I found street photography in Japan, and it never really let go.

I moved to Japan and stayed for five years. Somewhere between the train platforms, the narrow side streets and the glow of the vending machines, I started carrying a camera everywhere. Most weeks it came out with me every other day, and the city always had something new to show me.

Japan was the most inspiring place I’ve lived. So much of it feels considered, from the way light falls between tall buildings to the quiet order of a busy crossing. I learned to slow down, wait for the right moment and let the scene come to me.
It’s also where I fell for Fujifilm. A small camera you can carry all day changes how you see. The X100V and X-Pro2 became part of my daily routine, and they’re still the cameras I reach for first.

Five years of back streets, city views and small moments. Still my favourite way to spend a day with a camera.
